To import and structure your data in Pigment you have to create blocks.
Blocks can be of different types: Dimension List, Transactions List, Metric and Table. Here we focus on the two types of lists.
In short, a dimension list is an axis of analysis for your data.
If you picture your Google Sheet and you say "I want to analyze my business volume by month, by country and by product type", the dimensions are "month" "country" and "product type".
Each item of this list must be unique.
For example, the list of the countries where your company operates, the list of product categories that you sell, the list of employees...
A transactions list, is a list of items that do not have necessarily unicity.
It usually represents a list of events or transactions that needs be transformed or grouped for analysis.
For example a list of orders or accounting booking entries.
